Samsung Series 7 Gamer Best Laptop For Gaming

Samsung’s Series 7 Gamer has an understated silver and black design, and provided you consign the 8.4-pound behemoth to a table to avoid its crushing girth, this machine more than makes up for its bulk.

Despite being a little reflective in direct sunlight, the 17.3-inch screen is glossy, crisp, and bright. The speakers sound a little distant at lower volumes — which isn’t great for quiet movies with difficult-to-catch dialogue — but they can pull their weight once turned up. Red rings around the volume and power buttons light up and pulse in time with music and other audio  The deep, responsive keyboard is the best I tested, and is a true joy to type on. The rounded keys are soft without feeling mushy, and overall it feels more like a dedicated keyboard than a laptop’s. The trackpad is smooth and snappy, and gestures work well without delay.
from the this series we  Review Samsung Series 7 Gamer 700G7C

Design

The gaming notebook features a 17-inch 1920x1080 display which also allows the integrated Blu-Ray drive to render movies in native Full High Definition video. The 2.1 sound system features a dedicated subwoofer – a must in gaming notebooks – which makes the notebook a good all-around multimedia device.

Under the lid, the Series 7 Gamer has everything a gamer could ask for. Its enormous 17-inch screen is surrounded in a matte black bezel with a silver Samsung logo. Below that you'll find the Gamer's glossy silver speaker bar on the left side of which sit the Gamer's soft-touch volume, mute, Wi-Fi and keyboard backlight buttons.

The right side of the speaker bar plays host to the Gamer's main attraction, its four-way Mode Dial (see below). From here, users can quickly switch between four power modes ranging from the conservative Eco and Library modes to Balanced and the hold-on-to-your butt Game mode.

Overall, the Series 7 Gamer is a respectable, well-designed rig with only a hint of the stereotypically hardcore. More often than not, its clean, unassuming lines don't draw it unwanted attention -- but gamers with a flair for the flashy can change that with a flick of their thumb. At worst, it's a minor collector of grubby-looking fingerprints. All in all, that's not much to whine about.

Connectivity

The Series 7 Gamer provides the typical two USB 3.0 ports on the left and two USB 2.0 ports on the right Like any good gaming notebook, features a wide array of ports for connecting anything from a joystick or mouse to your big screen TV. On the Gamer's left side are its microphone and headphone ports, 7-in-1 card reader and  HDMI , as well as Ethernet, VGA and power ports. On the left side are the Gamer's two USB 2.0 ports, Mode Dial and Blu-Ray drive.

Gaming performance

The primary purpose of the Samsung Series 7 700G7C is smooth gameplay. Although the graphics card does not use the latest Kepler architecture, most games are nonetheless playable using maximum graphics settings at the native Full HD resolution. We tested a few games and summarize our results below.

For playing

World of Warcraft :The system rang up 167 fps with the graphics set to auto-detect. That's slightly lower than the MSI GT60's 190 fps, but higher than the ASUS's 158 fps, as well as the category average 141 fps. But when we cranked up the graphics to max, the Series 7 proved its mettle, scoring 135 fps, compared to the MSI's 106 and the ASUS's 88.
Starcraft 2: now two years old, did not have high graphical requirements even at the time of its release. When using less-than-maximum details, the 700G7C is capable of triple digit frame rates. Using maximum settings, the game maintained a good 59 fps. Occasional stutters might be noticed during massive battles during multiplayer games.
Mass Effect 3 : the highly anticipated 2012 Bioware role-playing shooter, uses an engine which limits performance to 60 fps for all hardware configures. The Samsung notebook was able to achieve this limit even using Ultra settings.

Keyboard and TouchPad

Samsung chose to use a conventional alternative for the 700G7C which features beveled keys that are directly next to each other

The   keyboard also features illumination as a visual highlight. Depending on the energy settings, the gaps between the keys can be lit in white or blue lighting. In either case, working in absolute darkness is not a problem and the backlight’s intensity can be adjusted to one of eight levels using an Fn key combination. The fan can also be manually disabled via the keyboard in scenarios where silence is preferable.

The Gamer's keyboard was also surprisingly
comfortable to type on.On the Ten Thumbs
Typing Tutor test, we managed an average 69 words per minute, just one word short of our 70 wpm average.

The Gamer's  touchpad   (4 x 3.8 inches). The touchpad, which is virtually unchanged, has a smooth surface that allows fingers to easily and precisely glide. includes two-finger tapping, scroll, zoom and rotation, and three-finger swipe were all smooth.

Heat

In our testing, we observed a surface temperature maximum of 55 degrees celsius during our extreme load stress test where both the CPU and GPU were pushed to 100 percent load. Even in this extreme case, the wrist rest remained pleasantly cool at 35 degrees. The underside also remained reasonably cool with a temperature of approximately 45 degrees. Waste heat was mostly felt at the device’s rear, a fact that illustrates a well-designed cooling system. As this load is unlikely to ever occur in practical use, the device should remain relatively cool even while playing sophisticated, demanding games.

Battery Life

The Series 7 Gamer's battery doesn't offer much in the way of battery life. Even with the laptop set to Eco mode, which cuts off battery-draining features like the keyboard's backlighting and lowers the display brightness, the Gamer only lasted 3 hours and 21 minutes.
That's 10 minutes longer than the ASUS G75VW-DS71,
 but well behind MSI's GT60,
which lasted 4 hours and 37 minutes.
 In reality,

 though, a desktop replacement like
the Series 7 Gamer isn't meant to be used unplugged.

To simulate maximum battery runtime, we used the Battery Eater Reader’s test and observed a runtime of only 2 hours and 45 minutes.

WRAP-UP

The Series 7 Gamer  is one of the best laptop for gaming . The keyboard is absolutely fantastic, and it solidly outperforms the other gaming laptops in this price range

the Series 7 Gamer is worth the money. Its a gaming machine capable of playing the latest titles at respectable settings. With all its case lights and fancy UI, its a bit like a party guest who arrives overdressed. You're glad they showed up, but the bow tie they're wearing just makes them look silly.

And let's not forget the Gamer's impressive audio. The only drawback that prevents this notebook from being an Editors' Choice pick is the heat it generates. But if it's raw power and a gorgeous screen you're after, the Samsung Series 7 Gamer is a compelling choice

With record-breaking speed, a superb display and excellent keyboard, the Samsung Series 7 Gamer is one of the best laptop for gaming to hit our labs. Games ran smoothly even at their highest settings and videos and Web pages looked spectacular on the full HD display.
